Our story

Out Of The Darkness - A Walk Of Hope 2026

This April, hundreds will once again come together for Out of the Darkness: A Walk of Hope 2026 — a powerful and emotional event uniting our community in remembrance, resilience, and hope. Organised by West Wellbeing Suicide Prevention, the walk stands as a symbol of strength for those who have lost someone to suicide, those who are struggling, and those who wish to walk in solidarity. As dawn breaks, participants will move together through the quiet streets of West Belfast, carrying messages of love, light, and renewal — a poignant reminder that no one should ever face the darkness alone. The Walk of Hope has become a cherished annual event, offering space for reflection, connection, and healing. Each step represents a story — a loved one remembered, a battle fought, or a hand reached out in support. Along the route, participants will encounter moments of remembrance, including the moving Wall of Hope, where people can leave messages, photos, and tributes to those they’ve lost. It’s a powerful collective experience that showcases the strength of community, compassion, and courage in the face of pain. Funds raised from the walk will stay right here in West Belfast, helping West Wellbeing continue to provide free counselling and mental health support to individuals and families in need. With referrals from doctors, schools, and community organisations increasing every year, the demand for these life-changing services has never been greater. Every registration, donation, and step taken during the Out of the Darkness Walk of Hope 2026 helps ensure that West Wellbeing can keep offering hope, healing, and support — one person at a time.
